Note. The following note is subjoined to the letter from the Balt. American, in our first page. If the observation and information of the editor of that paper are correct, the vote in Pennsylvania will be decidedly for Mr. Madison. Still, as things are at present, the majority of the caucus is so small, and so many belonging to certain anti-caucus votes uncertain, the prospect of an unanimous vote, as terrific as it is, in favor of Mr. Clinton, fears he is disinclined to serve again in that station. Would it not be both wise and politic to put up Mr. DeWitt Clinton as the republican candidate for vice president? We assure no measure could be more effectual in allaying angry passions...discord.
