Aborted Calf

When a cow loses her calf, owners always should suspect brucellosis as the cause, since approximately 80 per cent of all abortions in cows are due to this disease. However, at least a dozen other diseases and conditions may enter into the abortion picture, and it takes a careful herd examination to determine the exact nature of the trouble. Poisoning, injury, unsound reproductive organs, trichomoniasis, and vibrionic infection are among the factors that may prove to be the real cause.
