Arizona Senator Joins Bard Fight

Sen. Carl Hayden of Arizona Tuesday advised Gov. R. T. Jones of the same state he was making "every effort" to secure funds to insure continuation of the U. S. Bureau of Entomology and plant quarantine office at Bard, Calif., near Yuma.

The senator said that funds for the Bard station, held highly important for the Yuma valley agricultural industry, were omitted from the bureau's budget for the coming fiscal year.

Hayden said, however, that he would seek to have an appropriation of $15,450 placed in a deficiency bill now pending in congress.
