Political Gatherings of All the Parties to be Held Tomorrow.
THOSE IN ROCK ISLAND
Democratic at Crystal Theater and Republican at the Court House.
Tomorrow will be county convention day throughout Illinois under the provisions of the new law, which requires that all conventions be held simultaneously regardless of political denomination.
The democratic convention will assemble in the Crystal theater at 11 in the morning and be called to order by Chairman Sexton of the county committee, and Secretary Stauduhar will read the tabulation of the county clerk showing the delegates entitled to seats in the convention together with the names of the candidates indorsed at the primary election.
Donovan's Nomination Sure.
As a matter of course Cornelius Donovan will be nominated for sheriff. As to the remainder of the ticket, the convention may by proper resolution declare vacancies and instruct the county committee to provide for the same at its discretion. John Schafer has already been mentioned as being generally discussed throughout the county for the nomination for treasurer, and the convention, while not making the nomination until it learns Mr. Schafer's wishes, may, after declaring the vacancy instruct the committee to place his name on the ticket. Former Sheriff C. D. Gordon was in the city today and stated that it was possible that he would become a candidate, should Mr. Schafer decline to be so considered.
New Committee Important.
An important duty incumbent upon the convention will be the selection of the new county committee, which will be done by call of the roll of accredited delegates. Under the new law the county committee is a powerful body, and too much care can not be taken in its composition. Failure to place the right men in control of the party organization would be ruinous to the county ticket at a time when the prospects are the brightest that they have been for years.
All Delegates' Duty to Attend.
Under the stipulations of the law, too, it is of the utmost importance that every delegate attend. For this reason the list of those elected at the primaries is republished. Through the complication growing out of the miscount in South Rock Island the proper delegation from that township was not correctly given last evening, but appears among the others in the official list of delegates which is appended:

Interesting Day Promised.
The republican county convention promises some interesting developments in the political game, the center of attention being the fight for the nomination for sheriff.
There is considerable talk about the chairmanship, and County Chairman Koehler has indicated that he will preside only until the meeting is called to order, the formalities disposed of, and the convention organized. The convention will be called to order at 11 o'clock at the court house. The call will be read, and Chairman Koehler will read the tabulation of the returns of the primary. The organization will probably be perfected, and an adjournment then taken until the afternoon. When the convention reassembles in the afternoon, the work of making the nominations will be taken up.
Effort for Band Wagon.
It is expected that an effort will be made by friends of Edward Kittilsen to make his nomination a bandwagon procession. On the strength of Pleasant Cox's popular vote, he will in all probability be nominated without much contest, and this will be used by the Moline delegations as an argument favoring Kittilsen, it being held that the nomination of Cox for treasurer should satisfy Rock Island. Kittilsen and his lieutenants have been holding various mysterious conferences in Rock Island, some of them midnight sessions, in their efforts to secure control of the delegations.
On the other hand Rock Island leaders will at least demand of Moline that that city deliver the delegations to the senatorial convention for the support of Thomas Campbell for representative, before they will approve any deals favoring Kittilsen.
Fine politics is being played, and the provisions of the primary law, will offer much the same opportunity for dealing and trades in delegation as under the old system.
Os Still In the Game.
Os Bruner refuses to join the club of down and outers and says that he will be heard from when the nomination of sheriff is taken up by the republican county convention tomorrow. He declares a mistake has been made in computing the number of delegates that are instructed for him on the first ballot and demonstrates that there will be at least 86 delegates and that Kittilsen's strength has been overrated. A dozen or so are ready to break to him on the second ballot, he insists, and if no deal has been fixed up between other candidates and the matter goes to a third ballot he figures himself a winner.
Win or lose, Os announces that the boys will all have another chance to see a baseball game here at his expense.
Reynolds, Too, Stands Pat.
Reynolds, as well as Bruner, refuses to be called out of the game; and his friends will remain firm unless deals are made, it is asserted. His friends say that while his prospects may not be as bright as Bruner's, the developments in the convention are likely to favor his candidacy.
