Work and Wages on the Sixth Avenue Cars.

It was reported yesterday that some of the employees of the Sixth avenue surface railroad were talking of a strike on account of a reduction of pay. The men said last night that nothing would be done until Wednesday, when they would learn whether or not their wages were to be reduced. Twenty of the fifty extra cars put on on Sept. 1 have been taken off, and some of the trippers say they get only six twenty-cent trips a day now instead of ten. Superintendent Moore said last night that the company have been considering the question of making some changes, but had not decided yet what it would do.
