Captain Burman of the sch'r Betsey on his passage from Charleston to Philadelphia, informs, that on the 28th ult. he was boarded by a French Ship called the Africaine, captain Duaberqueny, from Brest, who fired a couple of shot at him, and ordered him on board his vessel. when after some detention he was politely acquitted. Capt. B further informs that when the Africaine spoke him she was then bearing away for Charleston, having lost her main mast, and thrown her guns overboard, in a gale of wind.
