Jaynes was convicted of the five counts Saturday by a federal court jury. William L. Paul Jr., defense attorney, filed notice of an appeal.
Federal Judge George W. Folta refused a defense request that Jaynes be released on bond pending the appeal, ruling that no substantial question of law was involved. Jaynes is held in the federal jail.
