WILL DIG FOR WATER.
Improvements to Be Made on Short Line Leamington Branch.

It is expected that by the end of this week the Oregon Short Line will have a through track from this city to Leamington hill over the new road. A station is being completed at the last named place and other improvements are to be made there to take care of the business at that point. A water tank will be put in and this will be supplied by springs. The officials claim that plenty of water can be obtained there by going down far enough. As an engineer expressed it yesterday:

"We can get a large flow of water and it is the finest water in the world. I can't say how far down we will have to go for the depth of these subterranean flows seem to vary, but we are satisfied that we can get all the water we want."
