Flee From Ohio When Orders Issued to "Shoot to Kill"
MONROE, Mich., Jan. 22.—(UP)—Alvin Karpis and Harry Campbell abandoned a car south of here today and were believed to have kidnaped another motorist and to have fled either to Detroit or Chicago. The license and motor numbers of the abandoned car identified it positively as that of Dr. Hunsicker.

COLUMBUS, O., Jan. 22—(UP)—A state-wide manhunt for Alvin Karpis, bandit kidnapper and public enemy No. 1, was underway in Ohio today.
Two men identified as Karpis and his killer companion, Harry Campbell, released Dr. Horace Hunsicker of Allentown, Penn., near Wadsworth, Ohio, last night after they had kidnaped him near Quakertown, Penn., and forced him to drive into Ohio.
Hunsicker was tied and left and the kidnapers drove off. He freed himself and notified authorities who said although positive identification was impossible they believed the two were Karpis and Campbell. Police all over the state were ordered to shoot to kill.
