Full Text

Dec. 18. Our correspondent at Plymouth writes, that notwithstanding the secret expedition is to be laid aside at present, for some very particular reasons, they have orders to finish with the utmost diligence all the ships now upon the stocks, and likewise those that are almost ready for sea; for which purpose they work double tides, Sundays not excepted. He adds, that the expedition fleet will certainly sail very early in the spring, with an additional number of ships from that port: and that the report there is, 'tis designed against Belleisle. From this it appears that peace (so much wished for) is not so near at hand as some imagined.
