Clearwater, Itasca, Lake and St. Louis counties have more than 100,000 acres of state land within their boundaries and the largest acreage of state land in any one county remaining unsold is 801,921 acres in Koochiching county, of which 637,021 are swamp.
The state had in its possession at the close of the biennium, June 30, 1932, 2,056,761 acres of unsold trust land. Swamp lands take up 1,363,459 acres, 678,345 acres are classified as school land while University lands aggregate 14,233 acres.
