The Troy Budget, one of the oldest and most influential of the Democratic country presses in New York, and well-known heretofore as a "Hunker" organ, puts up the "Soft" or administration ticket at the head of its columns. Washington Union.
Now isn't it a shame, an arrant shame, that the paper, which is universally understood to be the Administration's official organ, should permit itself and be permitted by its masters to speak of the soft-shell ticket, the Barnburner ticket of New York, as "the administration ticket?" Does the administration at last openly acknowledge that it has no party in New York except the old abolition seceders and traitors of 1848 and the few recruits which those seceders and traitors have since been able, by holding out a promise of spoils, to lure into their infamous ranks?
