SINGULAR SUICIDE.—A young Spaniard by the name of Octavia Alvarez, who was much beloved by his employer and friends, committed suicide in Memphis on the 6th inst., by placing a pistol to his right temple and blowing his brains out. It appears that some misunderstanding had occurred between his employer and himself on the 4th, and the warm and generous nature of the young Castilian was so deeply wounded at the thought of having been treated unkindly, by one whom he loved most deeply, that he shortly afterwards conceived and executed the intention of taking his own life.
