Tottenville May 10—John J. O'Doran, of Port Richmond, lectured to 900 boys and girls at the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin, Mt. Loretto, Pleasant Plains, Monday night, in the "Beautiful Valleys, Undeveloped Resources and the Historical Landmarks of Staten Island." Mr. O'Doran spoke for about an hour and a half, illustrating his subject with many stereopticon views of places on Staten Island, which tell of the beautiful spots in all parts of the borough of Richmond. The lecture was held in the large dining hall of the big institution, and which was enjoyed by the several hundred boys and girls at that place. It was a great treat for them to look on the screen and to hear of the many old historical places on the island, told by the speaker. Mr. Van Damm, of the Board of Education, of the city of New York, for whom Mr. O'Doran has given this lecture in the schools, was in charge of the stereopticon machine.
