FORESTER PINCHOT GIVES INTERVIEW

Chicago, Sept. 29.-Gifford Pinchot arrived here today en route to Washington.

"Control of the water power resources of the country," said Mr. Pinchot in an interview, "probably is the greatest task confronting the people of the United States. No private corporation in the future ought to be able to secure a grant of public resources in perpetuity.

"President Taft will urge upon congress the necessity of an appropriation for conservation work and if congress responds the money will be expended for the benefit of forests and waterways, power sites, lands and mineral deposits."
