We are truly glad that the election on the removal of the county seat is now a matter of course there has been more or less bitter feeling engendered during the campaign, and while we regret this we can truly say for our part that while we took an active part in the campaign, we have done nothing that we would not do it the campaign was repeated. We have tried to conduct the campaign, so far as we were concerned, in a fair and gentlemanly manner, perfectly devoid of personalities. If our course has displeased some of our patrons we are sorry that such is the case. Not sorry for the course we have pursued—for we would do it again—but sorry that any one should be displeased simply from the fact that we disagreed with them. It has been said on our streets that Terrell has said that was done with Forney. That that she from this time on the back of her hand was to us. If such is the case, well and good. We accept the situation. We, however, do not believe that such is the case. That this is simply the talk of some who have been over-zealous in the matter and in the heat of the campaign have let their zeal get the better of their judgement. No county can prosper and have different sections at war with each other and it is to be hoped that as the county seat question is settled and that permanently, that we will all unite in making Kaufman county the banner county of the State.—Forney Register.
