Full Text
The remarkable series of spiritual exercises for men and women, which have recently been taking place in Cork, were crowned on Sunday last, June 18th, by a very striking manifestation of Catholic feeling.
The four local branches of the Arch Confraternity of the Holy Family, now numbering some 6,000, made solemn procession through the public streets, with bands and banners, from the cathedral in the north to the parish Church of S. Finbarr, in the south, and there in the open air, in front of an altar specially erected for the occasion, united in adoration before the great mystery of the Blessed Eucharist. The sight presented by them, as they marched in proud array through the highways and as they stood beneath their numerous banners in the field attached to the church, was, it is stated, such as had never been seen in Cork before.
