NISEI INTER-CHURCH COUNCIL'S GOOD DEED
Nisei Christians in this city should be congratulated for their good deed, that of collecting papers and magazines to raise funds to give towards the "Houses for Hiroshima" project.
The money derived from the drive—$101.59, to be exact—was a modest sum, but the thought behind the push was a fabulously fine gesture toward a worthy, humane cause.
The people of Hiroshima will probably be more than happy to know that they are receiving Japanese American help in their effort to rebuild their atom-bombed city.
The campaign was just another proof that Nisei Christians are faithfully adhering to the Christian principle of building toward the ideal, that of the Kingdom of God upon this earth. You remember the scripture verse where Jesus tells his disciples, "Go ye into all the nations", in which Christians are told that the best way to show their goodness is to aid the unfortunate peoples of far away lands.
