Considering the condition of our trade, and our publick credit, it seems reasonable to hope, that a very few years enjoyment of the blessings of peace will restore to the British empire her wonted animation and vigour.

The present servants of the publick have already done much to secure to us the full enjoyment of the felicities which peace has brought in her train--They have made the most powerful efforts--not only to set war at a distance: but to provide for us the means of improving those arts which render the absence of war delightful.
