Full Text
We stated on Sunday, that the two young Germans, named Christian Glantz and Henry Glantz, were out gunning, near Bladensburg, on Saturday, and on being remonstrated with by Edward W. Duvall, a resident on the premises, as to the impropriety and danger of their pursuit, an altercation ensued between the parties, when one of the young men deliberately shot Mr. Duvall, who, in the course of the day, died from the effects of the wound. Such was the statement which we received on Saturday, but the counsel for the accused, Mr. Morgan, informed us, yesterday, that, although Mr. Duvall lies in a critical condition, he is yet alive, and may, according to the opinion of Dr. Penn, his physician, recover, should mortification not take place, of which there seems to be some apprehension. The boy who shot Mr. Duvall, is said to be only thirteen years of age.
