The North Carolina Senate has a bill to provide at the expense of the State, 35 miles of right of way over which the Federal government is to construct an additional link of the intra-coastal highway from the Cape Fear River to the South Carolina line. The bill carries an appropriation of not more than $50,000. It is in accord with the recent bill passed by Congress which provided that the Federal government will construct the waterway, at an estimated cost of $1,130,000 if the State will secure and turn over the right of way. The 35 miles in this State is just over half of the whole link to be built from the Cape Fear to Georgetown, S. C.
