We hear from Providence in Rhode-Island Government, That a Prize Ship taken by Capt. Hopkins in a Privateer belonging to that Place, arrived there last Saturday 7-night: She is a Ship of between 250 and 300 Tons, thought to be New England built, and taken by the French this War: She had about half her Cargo on board, viz, 217 Hogheads of Sugar, some Coffee, Cotton-Wool, &c. and taken as he was loading from one of the French Islands to another Port to ship the Remainder: She was navigated by Dutch Sea-men. Capt. Hopkins was left by the Prize in Chase of a Sloop supposed to be a Frenchman.
