DOVER, Del - The Delaware State Hornets under Coach Benne J. Gtorre are considered a team worth watching in the CIAA race. The Hornets have six veterans from a team that won 13 and lost 7 last season. Thus far, DSC has won 2 and lost 2 in overall scoring petition. Their CIAA record is 1 and 1. It is also interesting to note that the Hornets had a tie with both opponents to whom they lost around the three minute mark of time left to play. One such loss was to Morgan State College and the other was to the strong St. Peter's College which has played in the NIT and Madison Square Garden.
The veterans on the squad are Major Haurston, Wilmington, Del.; Hewitt Joyner, Boston, Mass.; Kenneth Pearson, New York City; Walter Penny and Bobby Wyehe, Richmond, Va.; and George Bratcher, West Chester, Pa. New men showing promise are Larry Gunnell, Hightstown, N. J.; Richard Frazier, Washington, D. C.; Andy Burton, Wilmington, Del.; and Theodore Ganges and James Cromwell of Trenton, N. J.
