FINAL DECREE
IN POWDER SUIT
MAY COME TODAY

A hearing on the form of the final decree for the dissolution of the E. I. duPont de Nemours Powder Company, as asked by the government, is being held before the United States Circuit Court in Philadelphia today.

The final decree is to set forth the manner in which the E. I. duPont de Nemours Company is to be split up into separate companies, all to be operated independently and in a manner that will be satisfactory to the court and to Attorney-General Wickersham.

Carrying into effect of the dissolution decree will end the so-called "powder trust." Dissolution of the American Tobacco and Standard Oil trusts has not impaired the securities of those companies, but on the contrary they have increased in value.

Examiner William G. Mahaffy had a final hearing on Saturday to take further testimony in the powder company case.

Mr. Glasgow, special government prosecutor, asked for the appointment of a receiver for the company to see that the dissolution plans are carried out satisfactory to the government.

Former Senator John C. Spooner, one of counsel for the defendant companies, asked for a rehearing of the entire case on the ground that the recent death of Judge Lanning, of the Appellate Court, one of the judges who heard the original argument made such a course desirable. Judge Cross sat in Judge Laning's place today.
