NEW YORK, JAN. 8.

On Saturday the 2d inst. while a man by the name of Brooklyn Moore was employed he had got digging to a depth of 70 or 80 feet part of the curve and was buried beneath upwards of thirty loads of stone and rubbish incredible as it may appear. It is not more marvellous than true that in this melancholy situation he remained upwards of thirteen hours and was then by the spirited and humane exertions of the people of Brooklyn extricated alive, and is now in a fair way of recovery.

When he was taken up, he said, that a board of the curve which fell across him, supported the enormous weight, and prevented him from being crushed by the immediate pressure of the stones.

He also observed, that on a former occasion he had been 24 hours in a similar situation.
