J.E. ROBERTS ONE OF LECTURERS FORMER OTTUMWAN INSTRUCTOR AT LUCAS CO. NORMAL INSTITUTE.

Chariton, July 15.—The Lucas County Normal Institute for 1911 will be held here in the high school building July 17 to 22 inclusive. Supt. J. E. Roberts will have the didactics, civics and arithmetic. His lectures in didactics will be given at 9:15 a. m. Every one interested and especially parents are cordially invited to attend these lectures. They will meet in the assembly room of the high school. "The School in Working Order." "The Teacher and the School." "Attention." "Preparation and Presentation of the Lessons," "Discipline." "The Development of Education." Supt. J. W. Tavenner, of Coin who is making a name for himself along his particular line of work, will have agriculture, geography and history. Mr. Tavenner's lectures on agriculture will be given each day at 2:15 p. m. Mrs. Wm. Bell will have literature, grammar and history. Miss Alma Clay, primary methods and orthography and Miss Dora Gladson the music. On Monday evening the teachers will meet in the assembly room of the high school building for a social time. Tuesday evening Prof. Alfred Pearson, of Drake University will lecture on "Sermons from the Poets." Thursday afternoon Aretas E. Kepford, state lecturer of the board of control will talk on the subject. "The Social Aspect of Tuberculosis." Friday evening Supt. Tavenner will give a stereopticon lecture. The public will be very welcome to all of these lectures and there will be no admittance charge to any.
