PAYMENT MADE TO MRS. LILLIE BLEASE

Columbia, May 8.--Court proceedings in the Blease-Abney law suit were halted yesterday morning when Clerk Hinnant recorded the payments of all costs of the recent trial in which the jury gave Mrs. Lillie Blease a verdict for $25,000 against the estate of Ben L. Abney.

D. W. Robinson attorney for Mrs. Blease, said yesterday that the defendant had paid the full amount of the verdict, the court costs and interest to date.

Mrs. Blease sued John R. Abney, executor for the estate of Ben L. Abney for $100,000 for alleged services to Ben L. Abney while he lived. The hearing occupied four days of the circuit court and the jury in the case gave Mrs. Blease a verdict for $25,000 after deliberating over eight hours.

Attorneys representing the defendant gave notice to Judge Shipp of intention to appear before him to argue for a motion, but later cancelled the appointment. The end came yesterday when it was officially reported at the court house that the defendant had made satisfactory payments to the plaintiff.
