Two Prisoners Escape from the House of Correction.

Two prisoners escaped from the house of Correction Wednesday afternoon at about four o'clock. They were the men who broke into Hulett's store at Wallingford some time ago, and were committed to await a hearing before the County court. They have been confined on the east side of the jail but have had access to the corridor, and got out by cutting through one of the iron bars over the outside window with a file or saw, and it is supposed that they had been some time at it, prosecuting their work when others were absent. Superintendent Eavres visited them less than half an hour before they squeezed their way through the grating and everything seemed all right. The whole thing was done in plain view of the crowds on the circus grounds, only nobody happened to be looking that way at just the right time. They were dressed in citizen's clothes and so were not specially noticed.
