Walker Meeting In New York—The democracy had, a week or two since, what they called a "Walker Demonstration," at Tammany Hall, New York. A number of prominent members of Congress were advertised to be present, but did not attend. Like all "democratic demonstrations," it was very harmonious and intensely enthusiastic. The notorious Capt. Rynders, now a Custom House officer, and the leader of the subterraneans and butcher boys, made the speech,—The reader may form an opinion of the sort of material in attendance from the closing portion of the Captain's remarks:
"Gentlemen, it is a most annoying thing when a man is endeavoring to express his ideas, to have an impertinent fellow on the right, and a jackass on the left, interrupting—and the Committee on Invitations either pulling his coat tails or trying to pick his pocket—he'd be d—d if he knew which."
