Only three more days are left before Atlanta will be in the midst of baseball again. Those terrible Chattanooga Black Crackers will invade the yard of the team owned Black Crackers at Ponce de Leon park Saturday afternoon to officially tell the baseball fans here that I expected to start a new chapter to the national pastime in the South. Big time baseball in a big way will be the order of the day according owner M. Sehane, who operates the Lincoln and Harlem theatres and the new owner in the Baseball tracker. A team second to none in the country by the last of May is his aim, according to his plans to get the best talent possible. Although 'Tarzan' Cooper will sign on the dotted line this week as second string catcher Green is the known big gun in the Black Cracker camp. Much depended on his hitting and experience to work pitchers. He will be given a dependable staff of twirlers. The manager believes with Green back in condition he will have a ball club that will be worthy of its name although he says that he will continue to build until he reaches the strength expected by the owner. Mr. Jones returned from Athens Monday down where he spent the last week with his family before opening the season. He was quite enthusiastic after practice Monday afternoon and predicted a team that will give a good account of itself in every way. With Thornton in harness and a strong possibility of securing 'Rec' Moore which would send Thornton to the hot corner, is expected to give the Crackers an infield that will rate with the best. The manager stated that his roster will be known Saturday night just before the season. He won't pick his nine until late Friday night and every man selected will be signed to a contract that will mean a security to him and the owner. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday at the Lincoln and Harlem Theatres.
