FREE SOIL NATIONAL CONVENTION.

BUFFALO, Tuesday, Aug. 8—4 1-2 P. M.

Delegates are arriving by hundreds. The Ohio Delegation and the New York Delegation now meet in separate rooms of the University for preliminary discussion, and interchange of opinions.

There is good speaking in both delegations.

Handbills are out for meetings in the Park to-night.

Other delegations from other States hold meetings to-night in different places throughout the city.

No candidate is spoken of for Vice-President yet.

As yet no one is seriously spoken of as a candidate for President except Mr. Van Buren.
