Lauds Salvation Army.—Cardinal Gibbons praises the war work of the Salvation Army here and abroad in a letter made public by former Governor Charles S. Whitman of New York, chairman of the national committee of the Salvation Army home service fund. "I rejoice in the splendid service which the Salvation Army rendered our soldiers and sailor boys during the war," said the Cardinal. "Every returning trooper is a witness to the efficient and generous workers of the Salvation Army, both on the front and in the camps at home."
