WE SHUT-INS
We shut-ins
Have no idea the things we meet:
You do not know how hard we fight
To win our health with all our might.
When things go wrong we have to try
To wipe tears away that blind our eye.
To keep the strength that we need here,
And fight our sickness without fear.
This is just a game we say,
Therefore, we from day to day
Just grit our teeth and struggle on:
Even if it seems we're gone
In all our pain we do not doubt.
But trust with faith He'll help us out;
The hardships here we never spurn
Away we shake off each in turn.
So we want you all to be our friends,
To help us—to visit us until the end
And as we journey down life's road
We'll not forget you shared our load.
The above poem was written by one of our patients Mayme Ingram.
