Full Text

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 25.

Extract of a Letter from Lisbon.

We have little or no News about our War. The Spaniards are making great Preparations to invade us, and we are doing all we can to prevent it; but our Campaign cannot begin for this Month to come yet.

We have a strong Camp formed up this River, about forty miles off, which secures the Town; for to come at us any other Way, would be too difficult for the Spaniards, having very narrow Defiles to pass through, which a few Men could defend against an Army.
