Full Text

Yesterday the charity children of London preceded the coach of the Lord Mayor, which was most elegantly ornamented, to St. Bride's church, where a sermon was preached by Dr. Hinchliffe, the bishop of Peterborough. In his Lordship's coach was Mrs. Trecothick: many other ladies graced the coaches of the other Aldermen, amongst whom were Aldermen Crosby, Stephenson, Harley, Turner, &c. Mrs. Bull was in Mr. Sheriff Bull's coach, and Miss Wilkes appeared in her father's chariot.

Mr. Wilkes' daughter was with him in his chariot yesterday going towards the city: the horses had as much blue ribbon about them as might have served for a general election. The gaping holiday-folk looking on all the time as he passed through the Strand, but not one huzza could he get, though his head was nodding, like a Chinese figure, at every object that noticed him.
