Capt. Langton, in the brig Augustus, arrived here on Thursday last, in 52 days from Liverpool. (Eng.) which place he left the 18th of Sept. and by whom we have received papers to the 18th.
The verbal information by the Capt. is that tho' the negociation at Lisle had been broken off, yet it was renewed again, only with a view, as was supposed in England, to give the parties an opportunity of reinforcing their armies.
Further, that tho' the preliminary articles had been for some time ratified by the Emperor with France: yet this was all aback, as the French would not agree to restore the Fortres of Mantua, tho' pledged so to do by the preliminary articles; and that in consequence the Emperor had sent an additional reinforcement into the Field, and was determined to carry on the War with redoubled vigor.
