Allen Chappell Qualifies For Renomination.

Allen Chappell, vice chairman of the Georgia Public Service Commission, qualified in Atlanta this week for renomination in the Georgia September Democratic Primary.
He has been a Georgia Public Service commissioner since December 1, 1941, and has served as vice chairman of the Commission since August 27, 1952.
Educated in the Sumter County schools, Mr. Chappell is a trustee of Oglethorpe University. He is a Methodist, Democrat, Mason, Shriner and an Elk. He served as a senator from the 13th District in 1935 and was a member of the House of Representatives, Sumter County, in 1933 and again from 1937 to 1939.
In announcing his candidacy for reelection, Commissioner Chappell stated, "I want to continue to serve the people of Georgia in an honest, efficient and unbiased manner as I have conscientiously strived to do in the past."
