VEVAY WINE.

The present season has been unusually favorable to the culture of the grape, in the neighborhood of this place. About 5500 gallons of wine has been made by six pressers.

Two situations appear to be particularly favorable for the culture and growth of the vine; one upon the margin of large rivers, and the other upon high elevated places. No part of the globe is better adapted to the culture of the vine, to produce the most exquisite wines, than the rich ground on the margin of the large western rivers—we are pleased to see the exertions made use of to increase the quantity and quality of wine in our neighborhood.
