Geneseo. Ill.. Dec. 12.-Senator Hicks, who represents the Rockford district in the upper house of the Illinois legislature. will address the citizens of this community Wednesday evening at the South Side school building at 8 o'clock.
Senator Hicks is considered the best informed member of the senate on public school matters in this state.
He will talk on the subject. "The Distribution of School Funds for the Benefit of the Elementary Schools."
He delivered this address at the recent state conference of school boards at Springfield. where he was heard by Charles H. Atwood. president of the board of education of this city. and John D. Wood, a member of that board.
President Atwood wrote to Senator Hicks asking certain information conveyed in that address.
Senator Hicks replied that it was not in form for mailing but if desired. he would come to Geneseo to repeat that address.
In a telegram received by President Atwood yesterday afternoon. Senator Hicks informed him that it would be possible for him to be here Wednesday.
Everyone interested in the welfare of the public schools should plan to hear this address. He will appear in Geneseo under the auspices of the parent-teachers' association.
