El Centro's elementary school district this year receives an average of $1907 per teacher unit from the state treasury for each of the 45 teacher units on which state aid for the district is based for 1944-1945.
This was made public Wednesday by the California Taxpayers association.
The total amount paid to the district by the state this year is $85,815. Average daily attendance on which this aid is based is 1,415. Local property taxes are in addition to the amounts the state provides, association officials said.
The 1943 legislature increased state support for the elementary school districts in California 10 percent. State support for the local elementary school district averaging $1968 per teacher unit for 1943-44 and totalling $84,624 based on 43 teacher units.
In 1932-33, the year before the constitutionally required state support for elementary school districts was doubled, the state gave the local elementary district $884 per teacher unit, a total of $38,010.
