Kay Clements Wins Fishing Prize

Veteran fishermen were outshown Sunday by Kay Clements, young daughter of W. J. Clements, who caught the largest fish of the day, a 35-pound yellowtail, thus winning the prize money of $11.50.

Kay was fishing with her father off the Coronado Islands and the barge was crowded with men who prided themselves on their skill at this sport, only to see a young girl secure the prize fish of the day.

Moreover, Kay lacked the elaborate equipment that many of them boasted, using an old reel without a brake and landing her fish in 15 minutes.

This is not the first time that Kay has had the joy of pulling in the largest fish, for the last time she went fishing she pulled in a 29 pounder, the largest of that day's catch.

As for "Bill" Clements, father of the prizewinner, he's not boasting much about his catch but has been muttering to the effect that it's all
