J. W. Cameron Seeks to Oust F. J.
Van Siclen, Elected Constable.
Charging that the election officials
at Ajo counted votes for his opponent
which were intended for him,
either through ignorance,
carelessness or neglect,
a contest against F.
J. Van Siclen,
successful candidate
for constable, has been instituted in
the Pima county superior court,
by
John W. Cameron,
the defeated
aspirant for the office.
In his complaint
filed this week,
Cameron declares that
numerous votes intended for him
were counted for his opponent, and
that on the other hand votes for him were
not counted.
He claims that the
board cast out as illegal many votes
intended for him.
He also charges malconduct on the
part of the election board, and
that illegal votes were cast at the election.
John W. Mayes, formerly of Tucson,
but now an attorney at Ajo, is representing
him in the contest.
Cameron was the Democratic candidate.
