Full Text

Odd Fellows' Hall.—It is hoped that this hall will soon be remodeled and made more convenient, as it is it is only with the greatest difficulty that at an entertainment requiring a piano, organ, furniture, &c., they can be gotten into the room, while the dressing rooms are so small that not more than two persons can dress at a time. The stage is entirely too cramped, and when it is necessary to move furniture from it, it must be piled up in a chaotic mass in one of the small rooms, to the great annoyance of the persons engaged in the exhibition. Frequently a portion of those interested in the exercises are compelled to descend from the stage and take seats among the audience. Come, gentlemen of Salem Lodge, give the public better accommodations; extend the hall back at least twenty feet; have a private entrance to the dressing rooms from the rear of the building; remove those unsightly pillars from the hall and strengthen the walls by means of iron girders; straighten the steps; place a trap door in the second story, with block and fall, for the purpose of raising a piano or other heavy furniture up to the audience room; rehang the doors so as to open out to the street, and the public will appreciate the improvement by occupying it oftener.
