As the mass health program moves into its fifth week of intensive health screening, health authorities report that more than 100,000 persons have passed through the lines at various health stations throughout this area.
Scheduled to run for three months, it is expected that upwards of 300,000 persons will have taken advantage of obtaining a free health check before the program ends on June 3. Interest has been running so high during recent weeks that several new stations have been set up in various business establishments and places ideally situated to accommodate the people.
Through the cooperation of the churches, club organizations, civic groups and community projects, the mass screening program has received support unparalleled in the promotion of community activity.
Almost from its very beginning, people began to rally in interest of the movement.
NEW STATIONS
Big Bethel AME Church, 220 Auburn Avenue, N. E., will have a health test station open from 1 p. m. to 8 p. m. every day from May 1 through May 6.
Thankful Baptist Church, 427 Atlanta Avenue, will be open for one day more—Monday only. Hours from noon until 7 p. m.
Among the schools to have stations will be Spelman College basement, Giles Hall, Monday and Tuesday; Morehouse College, (Infirmary) 225 Chestnut Street, Wednesday and Thursday; and Morris Brown College, 643 Hunter Street, N. W., Friday. These are all for staff and students.
Saturday there will be, as usual, a series of one-day stations. Three
