PREPARE FOR WINTER DAYS
Here Are Some Suggestions On How to Keep the Old Bus Working All Right
With the winter season practically at hand, the motorist is beginning to wonder how much longer he will be able to gain full joy from automobiling. The troubles of winter driving are staring him in the face, and he may already be planning to put the car away for the winter.
But it will not be necessary for the auto driver to do this, if he prepares for the cold spell in advance. Here are a dozen tips which, if followed carefully, will assure the motorist the use of his automobile all winter long no matter how cold or unpleasant the weather may be.
1. See that all mechanical parts are in good condition.
2. Keep storage battery full charged.
3. Use non-skid tires at all times.
4. Have tire chains ready for snowy weather.
5. Change to light oils and greases.
6. Put a non-freeze preparation in the cooling system.
7. Keep the radiator and hood covered.
8. Put a cleaner on the wind shield.
9. For easy starting, get a priming device with a highly volatile fluid installed at the dash.
10. Keep the garage heated while the car is inside.
11. For the comfort of the passengers have a heater connected with the electric or the exhaust system, in the tonneau.
