BOMB SENT THRU P. O. TO GOV. ROOSEVELT, N. Y.

NEW YORK, April 9.—A bomb made of short lengths of gas pipes filled with dynamite and addressed to Governor Franklin Roosevelt of New York was discovered in the New York postoffice today when the porter struck it with a broom. A sizzling noise and clouds of smoke followed, picking it up the porter threw it in a tub of water, thereby putting out the fuse.

Police later found the bomb fixed to explode by several matches arranged to strike against sandpaper, lighting the fuse. Police and postoffice inspectors refused to divulge the return address on the candy box containing the bomb.
