Novel Railway Law Suit.—The New Haven (Ct.) Palladium states that an officer from Bridgeport went over to Norwalk last week and served an attachment upon the homestead of Lewis O. Wilson, Esq., worth $100,000 or more, in behalf of the President and Directors of the New York and New Haven Railroad Company. The cause of this action was on account of alleged damage sustained by said company by the respondent having forced open a car door at the Norwalk station. Some time since the 8:15 A. M. train arrived, and as is frequently the case with an empty but locked car in the rear, while but a few seats remained vacant in the forward ones. The consequence was, some fifteen or twenty of the Norwalk passengers were obliged to stand up, including several ladies. Mr. Wilson politely informed these ladies that he would procure the opening of the rear car for them, and passed out upon the platform to solicit the brakemen to open the door. No brakeman was to be found, so Mr. W. put his foot against the door and pushed it in, breaking the catch, and causing a damage that 25 cents would have repaired.—As both parties have the pluck as well as the means, we presume there will be a long and free fight over the great question.
