Full Text
The Courier Journal says: There was a period not many years ago when a Democrat, speaking of General Grant as many Republicans and Republican organs do to-day, was denounced as a traitor and plauderer of the savior of the country. No Democrats have ever abused General Grant as many of Grant's former worshippers are now abusing him.
Yet Grant has not changed a particle. The Chicago Tribune even calls Grant's dear friends, Belknap, Robeson, Delano, Babcock, Shepherd, Taft, etc., a crowd of political prostitutes.
