BREAK GAME LAWS.

Deputy Game Warden Reinardy Gets Busy and Arrests Three Men for Violations of the Laws.

ONE PAYS FINE FOR NO GAME.

William McBride of Chicago Frank Hahn of Trevor, and R. Tyndall of Burlington In Meshes of Game Warden Sunday.

Deputy Game Warden Charles Reinardy got busy on Saturday and Sunday and as a result three sportsmen were pulled into the meshes of the net set for violators of the game laws and the exchequer of the state was made the richer by some eighty dollars.

The three men were all arrested in the neighborhood of Camp Lake and two of them were residents of Wisconsin.

The first man to fall under the eagle eye of the deputy Warden was William McBride of Chicago. McBride had arrived at Trevor late Saturday afternoon and had gone out to Camp Lake to spend Sunday fishing. He didn't get any fish but under the direction of Justice Blum he paid a fine of ten dollars. McBride was fishing with a line and had just baited four hooks and started to set the line when the game warden arrived and took him into custody. When arrested the man gave his name as Wm. J. Bryman but the officer had no trouble in finding his real identity and in proving a case against him. McBride managed to get a little satisfaction by fishing all day Sunday with a hook and line but it isn't thought that he got ten dollars worth of fish.

The second arrest was made on Camp Lake Sunday morning when Frank Hahn of Trevor was arrested on a charge of hunting ducks in a boat on the open lake. Hahn was out in the middle of the lake driving up the ducks and seemed to be having first class sport. The law specially provides against such hunting and by the amendments made at the last session of the legislature this practice of driving up game was specifically prohibited.

Hahn was brought to the city Monday morning and arraigned before Justice Sturges. He paid the minimum fine of twenty-five dollars and costs.

The last arrest was that of R. Tyndall of Burlington who was arrested on Sunday afternoon on a charge of shooting ducks on the open lake. His offense was identical with that of Hahn and he received the same fines. The fines with the costs amounted to $30.74.

Deputy Reinardy is making good in his position and since his appointment he has kept the illegal hunters and fishers pretty busy. He has made almost a score of arrests and in every case the men have been found guilty.

Many of the better sportsmen of the county are pleased to see the laws in this regard enforced and Reinardy is coming in for his share of the credit.

Game is not very plentiful in the county and the slaughters that are being planned by Chicago hunters would soon put an end to shooting in the county.
