ANOTHER EXPLOSION.
Boiler in a Norwich Mill Went Up This Morning.

Norwich, July 24.—The mill of the Norwich Silk company in Thamesville, a suburb of this place, was wrecked to-day by the explosion of a boiler. Joseph E. Hopkins, sixty-five years of age, the engineer and fireman at the plant, was fatally burned, dying at the Bachus hospital a short time after the explosion. Fifty other employes in the building escaped without any serious injuries, though two girls were slightly burned about the arms.

All the south end of the building where the boiler was situated was wrecked, the end wall and part of the roof blown out, the boiler going straight up in the air for apparently one hundred feet and crashing back again through the roof. Coroner Brown has begun an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.

The mill has been in operation only three months.
